Tianeptine is a selective mu-opioid receptor (MOR) superagonist, sold by us as its Sodium salt, Tianeptine Sodium. It has been investigated for potential applications as an antidepressant and anxiolytic and is marketed in some countries under the name ‘Stablon’.

In clinical research, Tianeptine Sodium has demonstrated efficacy in improving depressive symptoms and cognitive disturbances associated with depression.

Tianeptine is classified as a low-affinity MOR superagonist, meaning it can activate the mu-opioid receptor to a greater maximal effect than the body’s natural endorphins. However, unlike high-affinity superagonists such as fentanyl or many of the nitazenes, it binds less tightly to the receptor, requiring higher concentrations to produce its effects.

As a MOR agonist, Tianeptine can depress respiratory function, particularly at high doses or when combined with other central nervous system depressants. Respiratory depression can be life-threatening or fatal. This compound is intended strictly for research purposes, and extreme caution should be exercised when handling it.
